18th Century Welsh Oak Coffer Bach

A fine example of a Welsh Oak coffer Bach, having three raised and moulded fielded panels above a shaped apron and two opening drawers, the lid opening on rail hinges. Having very good colour and patina.

The 18th-century Welsh oak coffer bach (small chest) is a compact, sturdy storage piece, characteristic of Welsh folk furniture. Crafted from rich, dark oak, it features carved panels and simple mouldings. Traditionally used to store valuables or linens, this coffer bach reflects rustic craftsmanship and the charm of rural Welsh design.

Circa 1780.
Size: 25.50″ wide X 13.25″ deep X 18.75″ tall.
